Madeline and Ronnie elope. // Louisville Wedding Photographer

About a month and a half ago I received an email from Madeline. They were eloping (!!!) in Louisville on July 3rd. The only problem? I was flying out that very day to photograph a wedding in San Diego. I relayed this to Madeline, who in turn asked me when I would have to be at the airport. We emailed back and forth a couple times working out a way for me to photograph their elopement while still making my afternoon flight.

It worked.

We worked.

Witnessing these two exchange their vows with a handful of family in the courthouse is why I feel so fortunate to call myself a wedding photographer. The happiness and love is so evident that I felt it again and again as I edited their images weeks later.

Ever since this wedding, the first thing that comes to mind when I catch a cab now is the feeling I had when jumping into a taxi from their brunch reception at 21c Museum Hotel. And I smile.
